Aden Rolfe » Heavenly Emporium of Benevolent Knowledge / 2016–present
Aden is currently working on his second book, the Heavenly Emporium of Benevolent Knowledge. Named for the apocryphal Chinese encyclopaedia as imagined by Borges, the poems and essays of this work consider the various ways we categorise animals and the absurdity of doing so. Poems from the Heavenly Emporium have been featured in Cordite Poetry Review, The Lifted Brow, Meanjin, Plumwood Mountain (volumes 5.2 and 6.1) and Signs (University of Canberra VC Poetry Prize anthology, 2018). To date this project has received support from the Australia Council, Western Sydney University, Varuna, The Writers’ House, and the Bundanon Trust.
